Widescreen Fix Help

Hey guys, So I upgraded my old, tired laptop to a slightly newer one.  Install the game as usual and I'm having an issue with my display resolution.  I want to be able to run 1920x1080 but as of right now, the game is almost too small to even play.  I did see the post about the widescreen fix, but I need the dumbed down version.  Can anyone walk me through this?  I downloaded the patch but do I need some type of 3rd party software to view it?  How does one run this patch?  When I open the rar file, its coded.  I understand changing the settings in the cfg file but I need to understand how to read and run the patch fix.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks - taint

SOF2 Widescreen Patch   This is exe file. 
Put the patch in your SOF2 folder where the sof2mp.exe is located and run the patch.



Select your screen resolution and hit the patch button.

Also if you have nvidia. Open Nvidia control panel. And choice Full-screen. And also go to sof2mp.exe properties. And change DPI setting.
Check High DPI scaling override. and pick Application.  Look the pic what I post. In my case those two fix it size problems.

I was able to run the patch and select the desired settings but there's still something holding me up on my end with the display.  This laptop has some different display settings, appears as though I don't have the option to select full screen.  Ill have to keep messing around with it.  Thanks
