Build 1 Ryzen for younger son. His first gaming PC.
Build 2 Intel my older son designed this build and I tweaked a couple of secondary parts but haven't really done anything with the CPU or GPU yet.
Budget for Build 1 is around $1400 Canadian.
Budget for Build 2 is around $1500 Canadian.

That's awesome. If I call you dad will you build me one too? lol. Hopefully the boys will let dad do some gaming on their new computers. All your missing now is a couple of reasonable gaming monitors, mechanical keyboards and mice and set to go. Oh and don't forget some headphones so mom and dad don't go crazy. Going to be a Merry Christmas for the Jaged boys.

Going to be a Merry Christmas for the Jaged boys. I already have monitors bought for them. I believe one is a 75hz and the other we got on Prime Day which is a 144hz. Older son already has his gaming keyboard/mouse/headset/mousepad so he's set. Younger son has nice gaming mousepad his brother bought him so now we have to get him a keyboard and mouse.
He also has his own headset and I believe it's a Snowball Ice microphone that he uses with his "crew" Kids these days are allll tweaked out with the gear.
Here I am on a PC I built in 2011 that had a couple of upgrades in 2015 LOL Guess once the boys are set I'll look into a new motherboard, CPU, & GPU.
Probably go with the Ryzen 5 3600 myself. |

I showed my son the computer tech/builder your planned builds and he recommends you get a better power supply for build #2. A gold anyways. All else he says looks great. Hope this helps
